School’s out for Summer!

The end of the school year seemed to come quickly, and proved to be a very busy time. It’s hard to believe school has already been out for a month! The boys had a great year, with awesome, dedicated teachers and great new friendships.

Jonathan chaperoned a field trip to Alki Beach. He took this picture of Avery’s class.

Bellingham

We went to Bellingham the first weekend in June. We went to lots of parks, visited the farmer’s market, ate at our favorite restaurants, saw good friends, walked around campus a couple times, and swam in the pool at our hotel (the highlight for the boys).

Jonathan also took some family photos for a couple whose wedding we photographed eight years ago. It was really fun to see them again. They look exactly the same, only now they have four adorable kids. While Jonathan was busy taking pictures, the boys and I toured campus.

Beautiful clouds, but it was very bright out:

This is the bench between Jonathan’s dorm and mine. We spent a fair amount of time here our Freshman year, so I thought it would be fun to get a picture of the boys on it.

Walking around “The Ridge,” discussing college and what they want to study. Avery said history and engineering. Kieron enjoyed watching a student take his garbage out and sort it into the various cans. It hadn’t occurred to me until now that we settled in a place also referred to as “The Ridge.”

Eventually we met back up with Jonathan and walked around some more.

Back at the hotel, which the boys thought was marvelous! Their favorite part of the weekend was swimming in the hotel pool each day.

Cub Scout Campout

At the end of May, Avery’s Tiger Pack had their first campout. Jonathan, Avery, and Kieron all went, and had a fun time together.

No surprise here, but Jonathan brought coffee beans from home along with his grinder and full operation. Apparently this attracted the other dads in the morning, who were pleased to have a decent cup of coffee. Here’s Kieron helping grind.

The pack went hunting for Snipe and Sasquatch before bed. The pack leader even made clues like giant footprints to make it very real.
