End of School Year

The end of this school year was busy and warrants it’s own post. Here’s a cool pic we organized at the elementary.

In addition to being on the PTSA board, I was also the yearbook chair. Getting these distributed was a huge relief!

We had some bus stop drama when the district took away our bus route and made our kids catch the bus at the end of an access road in Fall City! Fortunately, they gave us our route back toward the end of October.

Nicole’s High School Graduation

Our niece, Nicole, graduated with honors from high school in June and is WWU bound. We couldn’t be more proud of the beautiful, smart woman she’s become. Way to go, Nicole! Can’t wait to see what you do!

The day before we headed to Pullman, we found out Manivanh tested positive for Covid. Sadly, this left her out of much of the festivities they’d all been looking forward to for a long time. Kieron, Grammy and Papa, and I headed east that day. The next morning, Jonathan tested positive, which meant he couldn’t drive over with Avery, Silas & Layla. It was pretty disappointing the wrench Covid threw in this event, but we made the most of it.

We went to Nicole’s track banquet while Scott and Manivanh prepared for the graduation party. Nicole was constantly being recognized on stage, as a team captain, MVP, scholar athlete, and so on. I can tell her team will miss her.

Back to School

This was a big, emotional back-to-school season at the King house. Not only was it the first time all the kids were going back full-time ever/since the pandemic started, but we had one going into kindergarten, another moving on to middle school, and one starting high school – in addition to a fourth grader. We are incredibly proud of all the kids persevered through since 2020 and so excited to see them return to school full-time and in-person!

Early morning send-off for these two!

A little bit later it was Silas’ turn.

Kindergartners got to meet their teachers this afternoon, but their official first day isn’t until next week.

Silas and Mason, so glad to be in the same class!

Thought this was a cute text exchange with Silas. He doesn’t realize what a fox means.
