Lindsey did some shopping for maternity clothes today. Here’s the result.

Today we had our first ultrasound at 11 1/2 weeks. It was exciting to see our 5cm long baby snoozing away in Mommy’s tummy. It woke up for a moment and moved it’s arms and legs, but soon went back to sleep with it’s hands up near it’s face. The ultrasound tech tried to wake the baby up so she could get a clear picture of its nose, but Baby King wasn’t having it.

Today we went to the Doctor’s office and heard our baby’s heartbeat for the first time. Since Lindsey hasn’t had any morning sickness or significant pregnancy symtoms (other than being a little tired), this was the first concrete evidence that there really was a baby in Lindsey’s tummy. It was a great sound to hear!

We kept our news a secret from my parents until we could see them in person — which happened to fall on the day we moved into our new house. To make for a fun suprise, Lindsey put signs on each of the bedroom doors: Jonathan & Lindsey’s Room, The Office, Grandma & Grandpa’s Room, Baby’s Room (eta. 3.12.2007). When my parents walked up stairs my Dad headed straight for the baby’s room. I think he understood, because I saw a smile on his face. Seconds later my Mom came across the sign. I think at first she thought the signs were left by the builder as a decoration — but the ‘eta’ part gave it away.

We went to the doctor today, and sure enough, we’re having a baby! It’s due March 12th, 2007.
