Hiking Tiger Mountain

This afternoon we decided at the last minute to go for a hike up Tiger Mountain. It’s a short but steep hike up to the bluff where the paragliders launch. Lindsey and I took turns carrying Avery in the backpack. He did pretty well though the backpack must get boring after a while. It certainly gets heavy after a while. At the top there were tons of people milling around waiting to launch their gliders.

The Cornea Edition

Earlier this week Lindsey had LASIK at a place in Bellevue. The whole process seemed amazingly easy. The procedure only took about four minutes, and now she doesn’t have to wear glasses or contacts anymore. So far it’s been a great experience. I might be the next patient.
On the monitor you can see Lindsey’s cornea with the flap folded back.

Water, Sand, and Basketball

We’ve been spending a lot of time in the backyard. The weather has been great, and my resplendent wife has been busy gathering outdoor toys all week. As the week progressed more attractions were added, and tonight Avery was running between the pool, the sand table, and the basketball hoop. He’s having a great time, and it’s a nice place for us adults to relax and enjoy a cocktail in the evening. Life is good.

Thirsty.

Also thirsty.

Texas: July 4th

We spent July 4th in Texas. There was a parade in the morning. BBQ chicken for lunch followed by swimming. I don’t remember seeing any fireworks. By the time it was dark we were all very tired and ready for bed.

Texas: Swimming Edition

Last week I was in Texas visiting the grandparents. I had to work most of the week but still managed to enjoy some time in the pool. The first couple days Avery seemed somewhat indifferent about being in the water. Towards the end of the week he was having a great time splashing about and stepping off the ledge in the hot tub, knowing very well that Mommy would catch him.
