Car Seat Installation…Complete

I’ve heard stories of daddies installing infant seats while parked in the fire lane in front of the hospital while mommy and baby wait nearby in a wheelchair. I don’t want to be that daddy.
So, yesterday I installed the infant seat in our Subaru — seven weeks early, thank you very much! I think it’s in properly, though we’ll take it by a fire station to be inspected.
As you can see from the picture of Lindsey in the back seat, we’re going to be needing a bigger car pretty soon 😉

I read the manual.

It’s cozy back there.

Baby Shower

On Saturday morning Nana King and Ann Gilbert threw a baby shower for Lindsey. The ladies enjoyed a delicious brunch, played games, and opened gifts. Thank you to everyone who attended.

Bump Shoot

Today Lindsey, Commodus, and I went for a walk near our house. It was a beautiful crisp winter day, and it felt great to walk off some of those Christmas cookies. According to one of our baby books we’re two days short of seven months pregnant. Here are some of the shots we got.

Baby’s Gotta Phat Crib

Yesterday Lindsey and I picked up a crib for the baby. We’ve been watching the cribs on Craigslist for a few months in hopes of finding a really nice second-hand one. It paid off!

First Baby Class

Last night Lindsey and I had our first baby class, along with about fifteen other expectant couples. The class was better than I expected. We learned about the birthing process and the first couple days following.
I did find some of the other classmates to be a bit comical. We were seated behind a nerdy-looking couple who couldn’t keep their hands off each other. The guy could have been Bill Gates’ twin, and the girl was quite a bit younger. Each time he leaned in for a kiss neither Lindsey nor I could see the instructor. During introductions he announced that he already had three children and three grand-children with another mother. I guess you could say he was alumni.
Overall the class was very informative, and the instructor was great. Next time we’ll choose our seats more carefully.
