The hard drive on our computer died. It’s fixed now, so time to get caught up on blogging (again). Here’s some of what we were up to in early November.

We’ve had quite a few interesting wildlife sightings this month. Here are the boys watching our deer visitors

By far the most exciting was the bobcat who walked by during dinner one night. He walked the entire length of the retaining wall in our back yard, straight into bunny territory!

Halloween was busy busy busy this year! There was a lot of running around, and a fair amount of stress for Jonathan and myself, but now that it’s all over, I mostly just remember the fun parts!

After the party, I picked Avery up from school, and we all headed to Trick-or-Truck in Maple Valley. There was barely time to squeeze it in, but we knew the boys would love it


Good thing we took the boys to this event, Kieron said it was his favorite part of the day

We raced home to a trick-or-treating kick-off party at our neighbor’s house, scarfed down chili and appetizers, and headed out

Silas figured out the trick-or-treating thing quickly, and did a formidable job keeping up with Avery. Kieron tuckered out earlier, and went home with Mommy to pass out candy.

We carved pumpkins the weekend before Halloween. The whole process took two days. On Friday we gutted the pumpkins, and on Saturday we carved. Avery was able to help out a lot, and Kieron enjoyed pitching in where he could. Silas was a handful, as usual, and helped just by not being too distracting. It’s a shame we didn’t get a picture of the end result: One traditional pumpkin face, one kitty cat, one angry bird, and one small pumpkin with Mr. Potato Head parts stuck in it.

We had a nice, dry October this year, so the beautiful leaves stuck around for quite a while, but now they are finally dropping off the trees. Our raking crew is still a bit young, but they were more than happy to help clean up the yard. Kieron preferred to rake, while Avery was all about the leaf blower. Silas stood back and took notes.
