Santa 2017

I was kind of sad that we couldn’t see Santa at the Cougar Mountain Zoo again. But I guess it is time to start a new tradition — mall Santa! Fortunately, our mall Santa is pretty darn awesome, and actually, with four kids, it’s kind of nice making it less of a production! And I really can’t say enough about the staff, they really have a well-oiled machine at Bellis Fair Mall! To top it off, there was a gourmet chocolate store nearby handing out samples, so I was able to entertain the boys while we waited to see Santa. They were troopers, and Santa wasn’t phased by a bawling Layla!

Maui 2017 Part II

We took so many pictures in Hawaii, I had to split the post up! We went to the Marriott in Wailea that we stayed at a few years ago for the last couple days. Since then they completely redid the pool, and it now has several huge waterslides and an awesome kid pool, which they keep pretty warm. It was perfect for our family, with kids spanning ages 1-10.

Avery & Kieron could hardly wait to go down the big slides. One of them went in loops, and the other had a steep drop.

They even had a couple smaller slides for Silas that went into shallower water. It was great, because then he didn’t feel left out of the waterslide thrills.

Maui 2017

We had a wonderful time visiting Maui again this year! We spent the majority a week in Kaanapali, and then a couple more days in Wailea. Here is what we were up to the first week:

Thanksgiving

We had a pretty quiet Thanksgiving this year. The Avery’s of Pullman were in Laos, and The Kings of Vancouver & Oakland had other plans as well, so it was just Grammy & Papa, and us.


There was a lot of ping pong

We put a puzzle together

And when we got a chance, we took some walks

We took Avery & Silas to The Nutcracker the day after Thanksgiving. (I originally thought we’d take Avery & Kieron, but he didn’t want to go, and Silas did, so it all worked out). Unfortunately, we got tickets to the wrong performance, which was more of a hip-hop interpretation. Don’t think we’ll see that one next year, but we had fun anyway. Here we are at The Local prior to the performance.

November proved to be another busy month for the King household. Here’s some of what we were up to:

Jonathan volunteered at the school as part of the Watch DOGS program. The boys loved having him in class!
