Hiking Buddies

Over the summer Jonathan went on a few hikes with friends. Here are some pics of the gang and their adventures.

18th Anniversary

Jonathan and I celebrated eighteen years of marriage in Bellingham by ourselves. We went boating on Lake Whatcom and visited some of our favorite spots in town.

Boy Scout Camp

You know the saying about when life gives you lemons? When Kieron tested positive for Covid right before Boy Scout Camp we were all super bummed Avery and Kieron wouldn’t be able to join their troop at Camp Meriwether (which was Jonathan’s favorite Boys Scout camp location growing up). So we got creative and Jonathan jumped through hoops to get his certification so he could take the boys once our isolation ended. These three got to be their very own pod at Camp and had a blast making memories together!

Quarantine

Covid finally hit our house in late July. Kieron woke up one morning and threw up. Avery had a mild cough & congestion. They were supposed to leave for Boy Scout camp in a couple days, so out of caution we tested them both. Kieron was positive, Avery negative. Kieron went into isolation in his room, which he enjoyed for the first couple days, but it got old pretty quick. The rest of us went into home isolation, which also got old. We had to cancel camp, which was a big bummer. Fortunately, Kieron had no symptoms after the first day and no one else caught Covid. Here are some pics of what he/we spent the week doing.

Meal time!

We got some home projects done – including naming our boat – since it’s going to stick around for a while

Everlong – one of our favorite Foo Fighters songs, and also the way we feel when we’re on the water – wish we could feel this way forever

July

Here’s what we were up to in July:

Silas helped Jonathan with some boat repairs for Everlong

Our neighbor’s Frenchie had puppies!

Kieron pet sat our neighbor’s adorable kitty, Mr. Purrington

Caroline and I went to see Beni at Infusion. He’s a local who won a big singing competition. He’s only a teenager and is very sweet and humble.

Look what Layla did to her doll!

Despite a lot of work and googling, Mommy couldn’t make it better

Turns out, for $40, you can send your doll to the American Girl hospital, so away she went. There were tears!

Checkups for Silas and Kieron at the cardiologist

Pool days

Sticker fun

Sleeping Beauty (or as she used to call it, Sleeping Cutie)

A visit from Andrew!

Took this pup for a lot of walks

Blueberry season!

Layla had an unfortunate accident at her friend’s birthday party. Her tooth collided with Clare’s head and was knocked in/back pretty bad. I rushed her home, called an emergency dentist, and had Daddy inspect it.

Next thing we knew, we were in Bellevue having the tooth pulled

Layla was very brave and even went back to the party after all the fuss

Back with the birthday girl, Maggie

Silas finished up his summer hockey session

Dr. Avery, trying to pull the tooth next to the one that was knocked out. It was very loose and fell out not much later
