MineFair

Avery’s good friend, Hayden’s, 12th birthday aligned with MineFair this year (what young boy doesn’t love Minecraft?), so Jacqui asked if I’d be up for suffering through it with her and taking our boys along with another friend to celebrate. I think this is the only way I could have done it. Let me just say the boys had a great time, and that’s all that matters. But it was a lot of sitting and waiting around while our boys tried out virtual reality, new MODS, blah blah blah, etc., etc. It was all young boys… and single men. And bored moms. Jacqui and I agreed they really could have capitalized by providing a few vendor booths that were mom-oriented (clothes, makeup, wine, pedicures). Again, the kids had fun, and Jacqui & I had each other – we were all happy.

Layla’s 1st Ballet Recital

Layla had her first ballet recital at the end of May. It was an adorable performance and she was so cute it brought tears to my eyes. Layla enjoyed being on stage and said she was disappointed she didn’t get to do a tap number as well like some of the other girls. A girl after my own heart!

Mother’s Day 2019

My family spoiled me as usual this Mother’s Day! We had keto biscuits and gravy for breakfast followed by a long family walk/bike ride and playing at the park. Then we came home and worked on our board and batten project at the house. I think my favorite part of Mother’s Day is the sweet cards the kids make!

Kieron Turns Nine

Cinco de Mayo marked Kieron’s 9th birthday. What can I say about this kid?! Kieron is such a sweetie pie. Such a puzzle, but so sweet. He worships his big brother, is a little annoyed, but learning to appreciate his younger brother, and adores his little sister. He wants to please his parents and needs a couple good friends, but not many.

Kieron wants to be a chef or restauranteur when he grows up. Or maybe a cowboy. He recently decided he’s mastered parkour and riding horses is actually his thing. A man of few words, he loves books. Kieron is the type of guy who reads half-a-dozen books simultaneously. He gave up guitar for piano this year and I can already tell it’s a good thing.

One thing I’ve definitely figured out about Kieron this year is that his love language is acts of service. He take so much pride doing things to show his affection for others. Whether it’s cooking a meal (I’ll admit, he makes me breakfast almost every morning!) emptying the dishwasher, or watching/reading with Layla, he shows his love through his good deeds. When his bucket is full there is nothing he wouldn’t do for those he loves.

For his birthday Kieron wanted to go to Flying Circus with his brothers and closest buddies. Having recently had ankle surgery, I was in no condition to go, so Jonathan stepped up and drove a van full of excited boys there to bounce off the walls. Then we had pizza, cake and a sleepover at our place.

Happy birthday, Kieron Scott. Te queremos tanto!
