One day I had nothing planned, and decided to take the kids to Hovander Park, in Ferndale. I’d always heard about it, but had never been before. I called my friend, Amy, who as it turned out, also had nothing going on that day, so she and her five kids met us. We spent the whole morning there and had a great time playing outside and seeing the animals.

There were a number of really neat gardens to play in. This one had books and places to read spread around.

Afterward we went to Sonic Burger. I’m pretty sure we provided a birth control PSA for the local youth who were there!
