We closed on our new home the week before Thanksgiving. I have to start by saying there is so much we love about Bellingham. It’s a quirky, liberal college town. We had amazing neighbors, and a big, pretty house with an even more beautiful view. We loved life on the lake. But as time wore on, we felt pretty isolated, and with four kids to ferry around, we were driving constantly — and nothing was close by or convenient. We missed walking out our front door and going on family walks or bike rides. And we missed the large, supportive community in Snoqualmie Ridge. So when by chance, a friend told us about a house on her street for sale, one thing led to another, and we decided to go for it. Here are some pics of the new house, and the days leading up to the move.
Home! Our wonderful neighbors, the Prichards, made this sign to welcome us. And they brought these And this, along with days worth of food! The following morning was a school day. Avery’s best friend, Hayden, and his dad, Phil, offered to drive the boys to school so Avery wouldn’t have to take the bus that morning. He sent this pic of Avery entering his new school for the first time. Then I ferried Kieron & Silas to their first day at Timber Ridge Here’s Silas at his desk When they got home, the truck was at the house and the furniture was half-way in. Flash back to our last supper in the old house I will miss this… Last selfie at the old house It broke my heart to split up Silas & Porter And Kieron & Bryon Layla, checking out her empty room Sunset The truck arriving We decided we needed to have breakfast at The Fork, our local fine restaurant before we moved.
