We had a couple more visits from out-of-town friends in August. John & Britney Burns, and their kids, Lola, Orion, & Freya came for an evening. We hadn’t seen them since they were only a family of four, and we had a great time catching up!
Anh & Brandon and their kids, Amaya & Tristan also came to visit. It was so fun seeing them again!
We rang in the New Year with the Avery’s of Pullman and Bonney Lake. Andrew and Nicole spent the preceding week on this side of the mountains, and split their time between Grammy & Papa’s and our home. So when Scott & Manivanh came back to collect them we decided we might as well spend the evening all together. We realized it was our first NYE together since The Year 2000. A lot has changed since then!
At the end of the summer Avery went to Pullman with Grammy & Papa and Kieron went to the Oregon Coast with Nana. We decided this would be the perfect opportunity to surprise Silas with his first solo camping trip with Daddy. They went to Middle Fork Valley for a night in the woods. Earlier in the day Jonathan and I took Silas and Layla hiking there (her first hiking trip) and decided they should return that evening. It’s also the same spot where Avery and Kieron had their first trips. Of course, Silas was beyond thrilled and they had a fabulous time enjoying the great outdoors together. The following day they hiked an another 4 miles. Silas was quite the trooper, that’s 7 miles for him in one weekend!

July means blueberries! We were excited for the season to start so we could head back to Bybee Farms to replenish our blueberry supply. We picked fifteen pounds in one afternoon. As I write this, it’s about time to head back for some more!

Miss cooperative slept while we picked
In early August, Jonathan took Avery and Kieron camping at Excelsior. This is the same trip they took last summer with the Bellingham crowd. They had a really fun time in the great outdoors, and Silas and I enjoyed our time together at home.
Poor Silas was devastated he didn’t get to go too!
But we had fun together at home. Here’s us listening to live music and dining on pizza at the farmer’s market.
