Our newest family member was born at 9:44 AM on 3/1/12. He weighed an even 9 pounds, and measured 19 1/4 inches. We’re so thrilled to finally meet him, and are enjoying getting to know him.

As I write this, I am currently 38 weeks and 2 days along – almost there! I’m so glad we had the forethought to take a few bump shots last weekend. It’s so much easier to get this stuff done when it’s the first child, or even the second, but we’re trying our best to make sure baby boy #3 is well documented!
I figure now is a good time to share a few of the details of this pregnancy. It has surely been the hardest, mostly because a) I was nauseous for the first trimester, which I hadn’t had the joy of experiencing before, and b) I was taking care of not one, but two active children while pregnant this time around. So far this baby has distinguished himself by being super strong and active. I don’t recall Avery or Kieron being such kickers! And although I’m measuring right on each week at the OB’s, I could swear he’s going to be a giant!
It’s fun to muse about what this little boy will be like and look like. Avery and Kieron are both so unique and different from one another. And each seems like a pretty even split between myself and Jonathan, but in completely different ways. Will this one be more like Avery or Kieron, or another totally different combination? As the day gets nearer, we’re more and more excited to find out, and can’t wait to meet our new addition the the family!

Meanwhile…

A couple weekends ago, Avery and Kieron had a bunch of extra energy to get rid of, and I desperately needed to get some work done around the house, so Jonathan took the boys hiking for the afternoon. While I enjoyed some much needed alone time and crossed off items on my to-do list, the boys had a blast on Tiger Mountain. Kieron even hiked 45 minutes of it!

We went blueberry picking a couple of weeks ago at our regular spot, Bybee Farms, in North Bend, WA. Avery was a much better picker than the previous year. Kieron, who doesn’t like blueberries, stayed occupied in the jogger with snacks as long as they lasted. After that, we let him out to roam a little, and he wandered among the bushes collecting dandelions. In the end, we picked about six pounds of berries, not bad with our little monsters in tow.

“Personally, I prefer dandelions over blueberries.”

Our bounty

Guess who can open all the doors now? These days I really wish we had doorknobs instead of paddles. Found this little guy helping himself to the Cheerios one morning while I turned my back. Hmmmmm, nothing is safe now!
