This & That

Below is a random collection of photographs from this fall. I can’t help laughing looking through them. Our boys sure are silly, and a ton of fun to boot!

The boys waiting at the bus stop on the first day of school

Someone’s happy it’s meal time!

“Well excuse me!”

Silas in his towel

It doesn’t take long before his big brothers are beside him

One day when Avery was coloring, he asked me “Mommy, how do you spell Kieron?” So I helped him sound it out, and then when I came over to see what he’d made, it was the sign below. “Kieron” is on the bottom with a red X through it. There are also illustrations about keeping out. Wow, how sweet. Too bad Kieron doesn’t read. 😉

We had a visit from Grammy and Papa.

Their shirts don’t lie. They really make a ton of noise!

Avery eating more corn. “I will get this tooth out, I will!”

Silas teething. “I will get these teeth through, I will!”

Avery and Kieron are getting better at playing cooperatively together. Here’s proof:

Rub-a-dub-dub, three men in a tub!

The many expressions of Silas:

This is his “blue steel”

Salmon Days 2012

We took the boys to Salmon Days the first weekend in October. It was fun, it was crowded. A challenging place to be with three little ones, but we managed to enjoy ourselves.

Mmmmmm, honey straws!

Avery’s got another loose tooth, and is trying desperately to get it out. He was so funny eating his corn on the cob. Why turn the corn when you can tilt your head?

Jump salmon, jump!

Over the Mountains

A few weeks ago we packed the boys in the van and made the 4.5 hour (6 with kids) drive to Pullman, WA to visit Uncle Scott and Aunt Manivanh for a weekend. We had a great time visiting, but as usual, not enough time. The cousins were happy to be together and kept each other entertained. Here are a few pics from our trip:

We checked out the WSU campus, saw where Uncle Scott works, and visited the Grizzly Bears at the university

I’m pretty sure the boys were joking about bear poop here

Kieron loved digging in Uncle Scott & Aunt Manivanh’s garden

On Sunday we went to Phillips Farm and picked apples and plums

Here’s our bounty:

A Helmet for Silas

When he was three months old, we started to notice the back of Silas’ head  flattening. So we kept an eye on it, but despite lots of tummy time and repositioning during sleep, it got worse over the next month. After a visit to a specialist, we decided to put him in a helmet if it didn’t improve by the time he turned he turned six months. Fortunately,  it didn’t get worse, but it didn’t get better either. Soooo… Silas is now wearing a helmet 23 1/2 hours a day for the next three months. Interestingly, the specialist told us it was not uncommon that she saw multiple siblings who shared this condition.

Two weeks down, ten to go. He’s tolerating it really well. In fact, it probably bothers us more than it does him. I miss kissing his little head.

Blueberries!

Just before school started, we visited Bybee Farms for our annual blueberry picking family outing. We’ve gone each summer since 2009, when Avery was the age Kieron is now. It’s fun to look at our old posts and see how the boys have grown, and how their blueberry picking has evolved.

I can’t say any of them were much help this year. Don’t get me wrong, they picked plenty of blueberries, but most went in their bellies, not their buckets! Fortunately, they kept themselves occupied long enough for Daddy and I to collect a few pounds worth before Silas said it was time to go. All in all, a fun morning!
