Late February

This was a fun day. We’d originally planned on going to the zoo, but it was too rainy out. So we decided to visit the Fremont Troll with the boys, who had never seen it before. Then we ate burgers at Red Mill and headed to the Pacific Science Center. We stayed there for a long time, and decided we weren’t going to go home until it was time to put the boys in bed. So once we got hungry again, we walked to McMenamins for dinner. We finally returned home with three tired boys who happily went to bed!

I love days like this, where we throw caution to the wind, decide it’s okay to let Silas skip a nap every once in a while, and go where the day takes us!

Hey boys, do you want to see a troll under a bridge?

The Piano

We’ve wanted a piano for a long time, and I’ve been keeping an eye on Craigslist since shortly after we moved into our house. The right one finally came along, so we brought it home. The boys are having fun with it, and I think lessons are probably in our near future.

Avery stayed up late the night we brought the piano home. Here he is with it right after we got it in the door.

February

We had a fun start to February, celebrating an impressive and historic Superbowl win! We watched the game at home with the boys. Here they are enjoying Seahawks cupcakes.

We took the boys out to The Old Spaghetti Factory for dinner one night. They had such a great time! We had a twenty minute wait to be seated, so they kept busy weighing themselves on this large scale. We got a seat by the window and watched several trains pass by during our meal. With pasta, bread, applesauce, and spumoni ice cream, everyone was happy and well fed!

Silas had his first ride on the glide bike. He probably needs to grow another inch or two before he can take off, but he was excited to have a whack at it. Unfortunately for him, it wasn’t quite as easy as he thought it would be and he got a bit frustrated.

Visiting Nana

In January we spent a weekend with Nana. We had a great time, and the weather cooperated, so we got to play outside a lot. The boys were enthusiastic to help in the yard. A big pile of firewood was delivered, and they showed off their strength and endurance, stacking firewood for a good hour. On Sunday we watched the Seahawks beat the 49ers and enjoyed a gourmet taco feast by Mark.

The boys had a blast helping stack a big pile of firewood.
