On Friday we attended a graduation ceremony for my little sis, Ashleigh. She’s finishing up at UW with degrees in both geography and political science. Congratulations Ashleigh!

Lunch at Chantanee

It was a busy weekend once again.
On Friday we went out to dinner with Nana + Old Nana. Then on Saturday morning the five of use went to the mall. Lindsey got some clothes for our trip to Texas. I helped choose an early fathers day present (for myself) at Williams and Sonoma.
Earlier today we went to Ikea to pick up some picture frames for the nursery and my office. When we got there the family parking spots (for people with strollers) were all full.  I said a few impolite polite things to a lady taking a family spot sans children.
After shopping, we ate lunch at Chantanee our favorite Thai restaurant. Avery slept while we enjoyed spicy tofu and chicken phad thai. Yummy.

Ten Weeks Old

Avery was ten weeks old yesterday. The time has gone be fast. He smiles at us all the time now, and is especially smiley in the morning. He’s making more sounds, and his voice is louder. If Lindsey or I make a vowel sound Avery will try and repeat the sound back to us. It’s great fun.
Also during this last week he moved out of his bassinet next to our bed and into his crib in the nursery. Lindsey and I have both been sad about not having him next to us, but he sleeps much better with the extra room in crib. The last couple nights after Avery’s gone to bed Lindsey’s said “I wish he would be hungry soon,” because she wants to have him close to her. What a sweet Mommy!
Mommy + Avery. Both smiling.

Memorial Day Weekend

I’m headed back to work after a busy weekend. Having an extra day was nice, but it came to an end too quickly.
On Saturday I helped photograph a wedding for one of my photographer buddies. I had a great time at the wedding. When I got home Lindsey and Avery were both still smiling. They had taken at least one long walk around the neighborhood.
On Sunday we had an outdoor BBQ with Scott, Manivanh, and Nicole. Sunday was cold and rainy so we didn’t stay too long. Next we headed over to Redmond Town Center to get a hot coffee and visit the shops.
This was Avery’s first trip to Starbucks. (bad cell phone pic)

Next we visited Abercrombie. (bad cell phone pic)

On Monday afternoon I rented a tiller at Home Depot and tore up our backyard. The top soil we had brought in last summer was all packed down and hard to rake. The tiller made it all nice and soft again. This week I’ll be raking in the evenings, and then we’ll get the yard hydroseeded.

Babies Everywhere

Congratulations to our friends, Jim and Renee, who welcomed their son, Logan James, into the world on May 22nd. Jim and I rowed together and were roomates in college. Renee was our coxswain.
Congratulations also to Scott and Manivanh (Lindsey’s brother and sister-in-law), who are expecting their second child the day after Christmas. Lindsey and I can’t wait to have another little niece or nephew and Avery is looking forward to meeting his new cousin.
