Pumpkin Patch

Avery’s cross country team went on a team run to Muddy Boots Pumpkin Patch, in Duvall. We’d never been to this one before, but he had such great things to say about the corn maze that we decided to go back as a family. It’s such a cool place, and has a really big, fun corn maze with creative scarecrow scenes to hunt for inside.

Kieron, Silas & Layla went pumpkin diving again this year to find the perfect pumpkins to carve.

Heather & Tim’s Wedding

Our friend, Heather, tied the knot in October on Bainbridge Island. Heather and I went to Jr. High, High School, and WWU together, and were roommates for a while. The wedding was like a mini college reunion for Jonathan and I. We had a great time celebrating Heather and Tim and catching up with old friends.

Ben Gibbard

Jonathan and I went to see Ben Gibbard perform at the Showbox in early October. It was a great performance, and we wished we’d brought Avery with us. Then we realized Ben was performing the next night as well, and it wasn’t sold out yet, so we bought two more tickets, and Jonathan took Avery to see him the following night.

RIP, Chris

Jonathan asked for the set list before we left. Neat memento!

September

Here’s the rest of what we were up to in September:

We took Layla hiking on one of her last days before school started.

We went to see Everclear with our friends, Niki & Simon. The base player, Davey French (2nd from the left) is our neighbor.

Backyard ping pong

Our neighbor (teenager) took the corner by Azalea Park too fast and ended up in a yard

Kitty love

Phoebe’s birthday – she got scrambled eggs for breakfast

Silas had to have two teeth pulled so the grownup ones would come down
