Avery Goes to Washington DC

In June, Avery finally got to go on his long overdue 8th grade trip to Washington DC and Boston. It looked amazing and I’m so glad he got to have this experience. I’m sure he will always remember it.

On the way home the gang had a hiccup. Half the group was on one flight and the other was on another flight – which got cancelled! Avery was in the unfortunate group. But fortunately, unaccompanied minors get priority when these things happen, so the kids and chaperones got an extra night in DC (they spent the day at the mall) and they got split onto three different flights the following day. Avery’s group ended up flying down to Florida to catch a connection home. It was a looonnnnggg trip home and he was exhausted when he arrived, but had lots of stories to share once he got a good night’s rest.
