James & Morgan’s Wedding

On July 16th, our friends, James & Morgan, tied the knot. James has been a friend of ours since college, when he and Jonathan rowed on the crew team together. After college, he helped us buy our first house, then persuaded me to get my real estate license, and has always lended a helping hand when I had questions. The first time we met Morgan, we knew she was “the one” for our friend, and that afternoon we all watched the Seahawks win the game that sent them to the Superbowl (the one they won).

They planned a beautiful wedding at their property in Everett. Jonathan was honored to be a groomsman, and we all had a fantastic time celebrating the happy couple!

“The lanky’s”, as they were affectionately referred to at crew. James rowed starboard, and Jonathan port.

The boys – not convinced that weddings are fun and special

At this point I was praying they (the boys) would keep it together. It was HOT and they were BORED! We were in the 2nd row and I was starting worry one of them would storm the ceremony – particularly this one:

Neskowin

Right after Fourth of July, the boys all headed to Neskowin to visit Nana for a few days. As you can see from the pics, they had a terrific time playing outside! I had a hard time sorting through all the cute photos (it’s so pretty there) so there are a lot to look through!

Blueberry Season

July means blueberries! We were excited for the season to start so we could head back to Bybee Farms to replenish our blueberry supply. We picked fifteen pounds in one afternoon. As I write this, it’s about time to head back for some more!

Independence Day

Oh boy, I’m getting way behind on blogging again. Summer has been busy – it’s time to get caught up!

Fourth of July was Layla’s first holiday, and we celebrated in our traditional way. We skipped the parade this year so the boys could be first in line for rides at the fair. While Jonathan took the boys out, I stayed with Layla and got her ready for the big day. Here she is admiring her cute outfit in the mirror.

Eventually we caught up with the boys for some of the festivities.

After dinner we went to our neighbor’s house for sparklers and a few small fireworks

Jonathan took Avery and Kieron out for Snoqualmie’s first professional fireworks show. He said it was pretty amazing (they got to sit very close) and the boys loved it!

End of June

My birthday was at the end of the month. I didn’t feel like doing a whole lot, other than sleeping, relaxing, and being with my family, which is what I got to do. Well actually, I didn’t get to sleep much, Layla had other plans. But it was a fun day nonetheless!
DSC01285-Edit

The boys all had camp that day, so Jonathan and I went out to lunch with Layla. She was very sweet and slept in her carseat the whole time, so it was more like a date!

It was sunny out, so we sat on the patio and I had a glass of wine. It was very pleasant!

I was going through the work the kids brought home at the end of the school year and came across this keeper from Kieron. Get your minds out of the gutter! It clearly says “I went to Zeek’s Pizza”!

I also received this one I will hang on to from Avery. It was after an altercation in the playroom which resulted in the swift removal of ALL Legos for a period of time.

They’re putting in a new Safeway, Bartell’s, and some other retail near us. Here’s Silas checking out the construction.

Jonathan has been taking the boys to the river to play while I recover and look after Layla. I’m looking forward to joining them there soon.
